Introducing the TalkDog Comic Online resource

The TalkDog Comic Online resource is designed to support the development of effective speaking and listening skills for children aged 5 to 11 years. The resource consists of interactive activities, games and stimulus screens; all presented by the TalkDog cartoon character and friends.

All of the activities found within this resource are self-contained and do not require any additional resources – this makes them ideal for using at home with your children. Using the links below, you will find some suggestions for ways in which you can use and enjoy some of the activities and games with your children to help them with their speaking and listening skills. Some of the ideas are for independent games that are related to the activities on the website – which means that you can play them even when you don't have access to a computer at the time. Other ideas suggest ways that you might like to work with your children, on a particular activity.

Some of the suggestions are simple word games that can be played in an odd few minutes or on a long journey. It is a good idea to take turns with all these games. This enables the children to be both speakers and listeners, and it's more fun!
